The optimized map markers are much faster to load and move through, but cause rendering issues on some mobile platforms. You only need to switch off optimization if the map in the GPS tab appears distorted.
Device speed can be converted to metric (km/h) or imperial (mi/h) units for you, or you can leave the units alone.
